KAREN UPRIGHT
ABOUT
Postcard of Braux from the collection of Karen B. Upright
To me, the most interesting part of history is the 'intrahistoria'. I am fascinated by personal stories set within the backdrop of a larger historical event.
I'm currently working on a research project involving a personal journal from World War I-era France and have a second project on French immigration to the Bible Belt of the United States during the first part of the Third Republic of France.
The research work is truly a passion. By day, I'm an IT manager at a multi-national corporation. I hold an undergraduate degree in Computer Science from Florida State University, an MBA from Purdue University, and recently completed a second undergraduate degree in Modern Languages with a concentration in French at the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
